Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated: 18 June 2026
This Privacy & Cookie Policy explains how FinalGradr ("we", "us", the "Site") handles information when you use our free grade and GPA calculators at this website. We have written it to be readable; if anything is unclear, contact us via the contact page.
1. The short version
- Every calculation runs locally in your browser. The grades, scores and numbers you type are never sent to us or stored on a server.
- We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect names, emails or other personal details unless you choose to email us.
- We show advertising through Google AdSense, and we may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool. These services may set cookies or use similar technologies, as described below.
- You can accept or decline non-essential cookies using the banner shown on your first visit, and you can change your mind at any time (see Your choices).
2. Information we (and our providers) process
Calculator inputs. Numbers you enter into any calculator are processed only in your browser to display a result. They are not transmitted to us. Some calculators may remember your cookie-consent choice in your browser's localStorage; this stays on your device.
Automatically collected data. Like most websites, our hosting provider and our advertising/analytics partners may automatically receive standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and pages viewed. This is used to serve the site, measure traffic and deliver and measure ads.
Information you send us. If you email us through the contact page, we receive whatever you include in that message and use it only to respond.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device. We use them in two ways:
- Essential / preference. We store your cookie-consent decision (accept or decline) so we don't ask again on every page. This does not require consent.
- Advertising & analytics. Loaded only after you accept. These help fund the free tools and understand which pages are useful.
4. Google AdSense and third-party advertising
We use Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its certified third-party advertising partners may set and read cookies (including the DoubleClick / Google advertising cookie) on your browser to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads on this Site and use cookies, web beacons or similar technologies to collect information about your visits in order to measure and personalise advertising.
- We do not control the cookies set by Google or other ad partners, and this policy does not cover their independent practices.

- How Google uses information from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- Google Ads Settings (personalised ads on/off): adssettings.google.com
5. Analytics
We may use a web analytics service (such as Google Analytics or a privacy-focused alternative) to understand aggregate traffic — for example, how many people use a given calculator. Analytics data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. Where Google Analytics is used, you can opt out with Google's browser opt-out add-on.
6. Your choices and opt-outs
- On this Site: use the cookie banner on your first visit to Decline non-essential cookies. To change your decision later, clear this site's cookies/site data in your browser and reload — the banner will reappear.
- Personalised ads: turn off ad personalisation at Google Ad Settings.
- Industry opt-outs: manage many ad networks at once via the DAA WebChoices tool (US), the NAI opt-out, or Your Online Choices (EU).
- Browser controls: most browsers let you block or delete cookies entirely.
7. GDPR (EEA / UK visitors)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR, including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Because we do not maintain user accounts or store your calculator inputs, we typically hold no personal data about you directly; most data is processed by our advertising and analytics partners as independent or joint controllers. For non-essential cookies and personalised advertising, our legal basis is your consent, which you give via the cookie banner and can withdraw at any time. To exercise your rights regarding data held by us, contact us through the contact page. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. CCPA / CPRA (California residents)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA), California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. The use of advertising cookies to deliver cross-context behavioural advertising may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under California law. You can opt out by declining cookies on our banner, using your browser's Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where supported, and using the Google Ad Settings and DAA opt-out tools above. We do not sell personal information for money. To make a request, use the contact page; we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
9. Data retention
We do not store your calculator inputs at all — they exist only in your browser tab and are gone when you close it. Your cookie-consent preference remains in your browser's localStorage until you clear it. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and then deleted. Technical logs and aggregated analytics held by our hosting and analytics providers are retained according to those providers' own retention schedules (generally a limited period). Advertising cookies expire according to the schedule set by Google and other ad partners.
10. Children's privacy
This Site is a general-audience study tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. International transfers
Our providers (including Google) may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be reflected here; please review periodically.
